Tapa“ translated into english means lid, which is usually a nibble served in the spanish bars with a glass of wine or beer. In most bars you just stand at the bar eating the tapa. The better the bar, the better the variety of tapas.
At Alaiar you can enjoy a great variety of tapas, as you and your guests prepare them on their own. Our chefs provide all ingredients and your guests do the cooking. Sometimes groups have enough time to visit one of the beautiful markets and buy the ingredients themselves. We can help arranging the market experience too with local guides, shopping lists and transport of your guests.
Divided into different teams, every guest is turned into a Chef and each person starts to chop, prepare, cook or fry the ingredients. Wine barrels and market stalls are used as cooking stations. Where one barrel houses the famous “Gambas al Ajillo“, on another barrel the Spanish “Tortilla“ is professionally tossed in the pan. A large leg of Serrano Ham is carved and usually eaten immediately by guests as a little snack.
In a huge pan the Spanish National Dish the “Paella“ is cooked by the Paella Cooking Team and nicely decorated with mussels, prawns and other seafood options. The relaxed atmosphere allows conversations to flow in the sunshine, whilst enjoying a glass of good wine!
